🌟 Exciting Update from the ICE BOX Challenge Inaugural Event! 🏗️✨
The ICE BOX Challenge, organized by the prestigious Passive House Institute, Germany, in partnership with Pledge4earth, the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE), and Passive Optim, supported by precast concrete supplier B.G SHIRKE CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY PVT.LTD, Insulation supplier BASF, Airtightness products supplier Rothoblaas, with Windows and Doors manufacturers KALCO and LINGEL WINDOWS AND DOORS TECFHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, DesertBoard, kicked off with great enthusiasm at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) in New Delhi on 1st March 2024. The inaugural event was graced by distinguished guests from various sectors, marking the beginning of an inspiring journey towards sustainable architecture and innovation.
🏡 Highlights of the Inaugural Event:
The event began with Prof. Dr. Anil Dewan, Head, Dept. of Architecture, SPA-ND, extending a warm welcome to all attendees followed by an inspiring keynote address by Mr. Shailesh Agarwal, ED, BMTPC highlighting the importance of sustainable building material and practices in India’s development journey. Ar. Punit Sethi, CoA emphasized the role of architecture in mitigating climate change and promoting environmental stewardship.
Prof. Dr. PSN Rao and Prof. Dr. Meenakshi Dhote from SPA-ND shared insights into the academic perspective on sustainable architecture and the significance of collaborative initiatives like the ICE BOX Challenge. Ar. Ajit Pai, Chairman, Delhi Urban Art Commission emphasized the need for policy support and regulatory frameworks to foster sustainable development.
Mr. Subhash Chandra, CEO, NCAMPA, MoEFCC discussed the government’s efforts to promote green building initiatives and the importance of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainability goals. Dr. Shweta Manchanda, SPA-ND introduced the guests and highlighted the role of academia in driving innovation and knowledge exchange in sustainable architecture.
Ms. Camille Sifferlen and Mr. Edward Lowes, PHI Germany provided valuable insights into passive design principles and the global impact of initiatives like the ICE BOX Challenge.
