CII’s National Energy Awards has established itself as the most prestigious award, given for efforts to save energy and making project operations more and more efficient by innovating and implementing energy saving projects.
This year was a special one, celebrating 25th years of the awards. Out of about 500+ applicant companies/project, 207 were shorts listed for the final round of competition, by a panel of judges of eminent domain exerts and consultants. The applicant represented Automobile Engineering and Railways, Building sector, Data Centers, Integrated Cement, Cement Grinding Units, Metal, Power Plants, Pulp and Paper Sector and MSMES.
Over the last three years, 207 companies have achieved a collective savings of INR 4790 Cr. With an average energy saving of 125 MW, by implementing 4233 Projects with an investment of INR 3485 CR. This year alone, under Building sector, 33 companies presented 322 energy saving projects [with approximately INR 209 CR investment], which lead to a saving of INR 169.53 Cr. and 4 MW Energy saved.
Over the last decade or so, it has been an enriching experience, being on the panel of judges selecting some of the most energy efficient projects from across the country.
